Organized by the Abuja MoU Secretariat in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Cameroon Ministry of Transport, this event was a remarkable achievement.<\/p>\n<p>This training was a pivotal experience for Port State Control Officers (PSCOs) in the Abuja MoU region, as it encompassed crucial aspects of the MoU&#8217;s Relevant Instruments. The knowledge gained is vital for PSCOs to effectively conduct inspections and ensure the protection of seafarers&#8217; rights and overall well-being.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Takeaways from Captain Sunday Umoren, Secretary General of the Abuja MoU:<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>\n    \u201cMLC 2006 is essentially the Seafarer\u2019s Bill of Rights, and it\u2019s concerning that many countries in the Abuja MoU have not yet ratified or domesticated this convention.
